Multimedia Messaging System (MMS)

Multimedia messaging service, also known as MMS, is a standard way of sending a message containing pictures, videos and sound files from one mobile phone to another. To send a picture through an iPhone you go to your messages, click new message and then click the camera, choose the picture from your photo album that you want to send and then press send.

For the recipient to receive the image you have sent them, they will have to have MMS enabled on their phone which is done automatically on most smart phones. MMS allows you to send messages with more than 160 characters unlike SMS.
